Miočić je pobjedom izjednačio rekord po broju uzastopnih obrana naslova prvaka (2), te će u idućoj borbi imati priliku samostalno zasjesti na tron. Dosada su osim njega još čak petorica boraca dva puta osvajala naslov prvaka u teškoj kategoriji, ali nikad nitko nije uspio tri puta zaredom slaviti.
